Brahmas Release 2007-08 Schedule
August 9, 2007 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Fort Worth Brahmas News Release
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (August 10)- The wait is over for Texas Brahmas fans, the Central Hockey League (CHL) officially released the complete schedule for the 2007-08 campaign.
The 64 game schedule has the Brahmas playing 32 games on the road and 32 games in their new home, the NYTEX Sports Centre in North Richland Hills .
"The combination of favorable home dates, a great venue and a championship caliber team assembled by our coach will certainly make a Brahmas home game the hottest ticket in town," said Texas Brahmas and NYTEX Sports President, Frank Trazzera.
The Brahmas will launch their tenth season on the road Friday, October 19 against the Austin Ice Bats, followed by a game in Bossier-Shreveport on Saturday. The Brahmas will host the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs in an inaugural game at NYTEX Sports Centre on October 27.
The Brahmas schedule features 27 games that will be played against their Northeast Divisional rivals, the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs (11 games), Mississippi RiverKings (7 games) and Youngstown SteelHounds (9 games).
This season the Brahmas will face off against formidable opponents such as last season's CHL champion, Colorado Eagles. The Eagles will come to town on Groundhog's Day, February 2. Another notable game is the New Year's Eve match up against the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs, Brahmas head coach Dan Wildfong's former team.
The Brahmas' home dates will be primarily played on the weekends for the 2007-08 season. Of the scheduled 32 home games, 26 will be played on Fridays (10), Saturdays (11) or Sundays (5). As for weekday games, Texas will play one Monday, three Tuesday, and two Wednesday.
The NYTEX Sports Centre will host plenty of CHL action from November 17 to December 8, as the Brahmas enjoy their longest homestand, nine games. The Brahmas will become road warriors following their lengthy homestand as they play away from home for six consecutive games from December 12 to December 26.
The final 2007-08 regular season home game will be against their Red River rivals, the Oklahoma City Blazers, Sunday, March 16. The Brahmas will close the regular season on the road with a three game road trip finishing in Austin on March 22.
All home games are scheduled to begin at 7:05 PM, with the exception of Sunday games and New Year's Eve. All Sunday games will be played at 3:05 PM. The final home game and the New Year's Eve game will have opening face-off at 6:05 PM. (All Central Time)
"This is among the most number of weekend and holiday games in the history of the franchise," said Texas Brahmas General Manager, Mike Barack. "We are excited to offer the fans convenient dates to see the team."
