Rage Home Opener Slated for Oct. 26 vs. Tulsa Oilers

August 9, 2007 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Rocky Mountain Rage News Release

Broomfield, Colo. - The Rocky Mountain Rage open their second season in the Central Hockey League with two games on the road against the Odessa Jackalopes on Oct. 19 and the Amarillo Gorillas on Oct. 20. The club then returns to Broomfield Event Center for its home opener against the Tulsa Oilers on Friday, Oct. 26, at 7:05 p.m.

The Rage's 2007-08 schedule (attached) features a season-high 12 clashes with the front range-rival Colorado Eagles. Their first showdown against the defending President's Cup Champions is slated for a two-game set at Broomfield Event Center on Oct. 30 and Nov. 2.

In addition to the 64 regular season games split evenly at home and on the road, the Rage will also host the 2008 CHL All-Star Game at Broomfield Event Center on January 16.

After beginning the campaign on the road, Rocky Mountain then plays eight of its next nine games at home. The stretch includes two four-game home stands, matching the longest home stand from last year's inaugural season.

Perhaps the most difficult portion of the schedule arrives in late January when the club will play 10 of 13 away from the BEC, which includes a franchise-record seven-game road trip from Jan. 25 - Feb. 5 that will take the team to Youngstown, Laredo, Corpus Christi, Rio Grande Valley (Texas), and Tulsa.

The Rage play every team in the 17-team CHL at least once except for the Austin Ice Bats, whom they would only face if both clubs advanced to the President's Cup Finals. Next to the Eagles, Rocky Mountain will most often battle the Wichita Thunder and Arizona Sundogs (seven games apiece), followed by the Tulsa Oilers (6), Oklahoma City Blazers (5), and Amarillo Gorillas (5).
