Scorpions Open Season With Southern Conference Finals Rematch

August 9, 2007 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
New Mexico Scorpions News Release

[RIO RANCHO, N.M.]-The New Mexico Scorpions will open their 11th season on October 19th against the Laredo Bucks in a Southern Conference Finals rematch. The weekend will also see a Saturday night match up between the same two teams.

The Scorpions 2007-08 Central Hockey League schedule features 24 of 32 home dates on the weekend. Unlike last season, the Scorpions will enjoy playing a tremendous number of divisional and conference games.

In trying to defend their Southwest Divisional crown, the Scorps will play their southwest counterparts (Amarillo, Arizona and Odessa) 35 times including 13 games against their long time rivals from Amarillo and 12 head-to-head meetings with their newest rival the Arizona Sundogs.

"It will be great to have so many games this season within our conference and division," said head coach Ray Edwards. "By playing near the same number of intra-conference games as the rest of the teams, it helps us determine our own playoff fate."

All Tuesday-Saturday home games will have a new start time of 7:15 p.m. while the two Sunday home games will begin at 3:15 p.m. The annual "School Day Game" is set for Tuesday, December 18 when the Corpus Christi Rayz visit at 10:30 a.m.

One of the many highlights of the upcoming season will be when the defending CHL champions Colorado Eagles visit the Santa Ana Star Center on November 30, February 17 and March 1. The Scorps will visit the re-birthed Texas Brahmas in their new home on February 15 in the two teams' lone match-up this season.

The longest home stand this season for the Scorpions will be from January 29-February 12 when they host seven games. In March the Scorpions will become road warriors from March 6-16, playing six games and covering 3,633 miles.

SELECT A SEAT

The New Mexico Scorpions will host an open house "select-a-seat" event on Sunday August 25th at the Santa Ana Star Center from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The entire community is invited to the Scorpions home for a chance to pick their seat for season ticket packages.

Current season ticket holders are also invited to come to this great event and enjoy entertainment throughout the day and have a chance at some exciting door prizes. Every current season ticket holder who refers a friend to sign up for season tickets during this event will receive a special gift.

The Scorpions are so confident fans will enjoy being season ticket holders; they guarantee money back if not satisfied. Any new or renewing season ticket holder will be offered a money back guarantee on the full price of the season tickets if they are not satisfied for any reason.

The Scorpions organization promises to ask no questions on why a fan wants their money back. Season ticket holders can ask for their money back after the first or second home game of the 2007-08 season. The offer expires at the beginning of the third home game.

Become a full season ticket holder for as low as $324. Every month, one lucky season ticket holder will win a free, game-worn autographed Scorpions' jersey. When purchasing season tickets, each person receives special VIP parking and entrance, discounts at local establishments and promises that no tickets will go unused.

Payment plans are available to fit anyone's budget. Call the Scorpions' office at (505) 881-PUCK (7825) to find out how you can be a part of all 32 regular season home games starting this October. You don't want to miss your chance to watch the Scorpions drive toward the Ray Miron President's Cup.
