Bucks Release 2007-08 Schedule, Home Opener October 26th vs Corpus

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League have announced their schedule for the upcoming 2007-08 CHL season.

The Bucks, who are entering their sixth season, will host their home opener on Friday, October 26th against the Corpus Christi Rayz at 7:30pm. Laredo will begin the season a week earlier on October 19th, starting a three-game road trip, first playing two-games in New Mexico in a rematch of the 2007 Southern Conference Finals, before stopping in Amarillo on October 23rd to face the Gorillas.

In all the Bucks will play a 64 game slate, with 32 at home in the LEC, and 32 on the road. Of the 32 home dates, 24 will take place on weekends. The Bucks will play nine home games on Friday's, nine home games on Saturday's, and six home games on Sunday's. Game times for home games will remain the same, 7pm on Monday thru Thursday, 7:30pm on Friday and Saturday, and 4pm on Sunday. Laredo will play one home game on Monday (New Years Eve, 8pm), three at home on Tuesday's, two home games on Wednesday's, and three home games on Thursday's.

The Bucks will play 33 times against their Southeast Division opponents, 16 at home and 17 away. Laredo will play Rio Grande Valley the most this season. The Bucks and Bees will tangle 13 times, (6 at home, 7 away). Laredo will play Corpus Christi 12 times (6 at home, 6 away), and play Austin 8 Times (4 at home, 4 away).

Including the 33 times the Bucks play intra-division games, they will play against fellow Southern Conference teams 47 times (24 at home, 23 away), with 14 games against the Southwest Division, seven at home, and seven on the road. Laredo will play Amarillo two times (one at home, one away), Arizona four times, (two at home, two away), New Mexico four times, (two at home, two away), and Odessa four times, (two at home, two away).

Rounding out the schedule the Bucks will play against the Northern Conference 17 times, 9 at the LEC, and 8 on the road. Laredo will tangle with Colorado two times (one home, one away) in a rematch of 2005, and 2007 President's Cup Finals, the Bucks will play Bossier-Shreveport three times (two at home, one away), Mississippi two times (both at home), Texas two times (one home, one away), Youngstown four times (one at home, three away), Oklahoma City once (away), Rocky Mountain two times (one home, one away), and Tulsa once at home. The Bucks do not play Wichita this season.

The Bucks longest home stand is five games, from February 27th to March 8th, with, the longest road trip being three games, that will happen four different times throughout the season. The Bucks will play three games in three straight nights six different times this year. The Rocky Mountain Rage will host the 2008 CHL All-Star Game on January 16th at the Broomfield Events Center.

Some noteworthy games this season include the home opener on October 26th against Corpus Christi, the Bucks two rematches against Colorado, on November 17th at the Budweiser Events Center, and January 6th at the LEC, the Annual New Year's Eve game against Rio Grande Valley, the Texas Brahmas return to Laredo February 29th after a year absence in the league, this will be the second straight leap-year the Bucks have played on February 29th (2004 @Bossier-Shreveport), and the regular season home finale March 21st against the Killer Bees.
