Brahmas Pounded in Final Regular Season Meeting with Allen, 5-2
March 22, 2011 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Fort Worth Brahmas News Release
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (March 22)- In the final meeting in the cross town rivalry between the Brahmas and Americans, Texas took a beating in a 5-2 loss.
The first period displayed a typical opening frame between the two teams with a single goal beginning with Allen's Nino Musitelli beating Wayne Savage. Shots were 10-11 with the Brahmas trailing.
A woeful and forgettable second set the mode for the remainder of the game with the Brahmas giving up four back-to-back goals to Colton Yellow Horn, Dave Bonk, Musitelli and Jarret Lukin. Chad Woollard was able to put Texas on the boards when a cross ice pass from Jason Deitsch found the goal leader's blade for his 43rd of the season with 10 seconds left in the period.
Down four goals, the Brahmas came out only to record a single tally in the third period from a powerplay goal by Greg Hogeboom who was planted in Chris Whitley's crease. The goal marked the lone lit lamp in the frame as the Brahmas fell 5-2 on the road.
