
Komets Assigned Defenseman Matt Krug

Fort Wayne, IN. | Tuesday, March 202 2011 -- The Komets announced Tuesday that defenseman Matt Krug has been assigned to Fort Wayne by the AHL's Chicago Wolves.
Krug is in his second pro year and appeared in ECHL stints with Gwinnet and Elmira this season.
Krug (KROOG), 25, began his pro career last year with Muskegon of the International Hockey League and topped Lumberjack defensemen with 14 goals, 33 assists and 47 points while leading Muskegon with 209 penalty minutes.
The Livonia, Michigan native is expected to be in the lineup this Wednesday night when the Komets host the Dayton Gems at 7:30pm.
Mironovic waived -- The Komets also announced Tuesday that defenseman Danko Mironovic has been placed on waivers. Mironovic was in his third year with Fort Wayne appearing in 24 games (1a, 37pim).
In addition player moves Tuesday, the Komets placed left wing P.C. Drouin on 10-day injured reserve and activated right wing Sean O'Connor from injured reserve. O'Connor is expected to be in the Fort Wayne lineup tonight when the Komets skate at Bloomington at 8:05pm ET.
The Komets will close the regular season schedule with four games this week. Tonight the Komets skate at Bloomington at 8:05pm ET and return home to host the Dayton Gems Wednesday at 7:30pm. The Komets will host a home double-header against the visiting Colorado Eagles starting Friday at 8pm. The K's will complete the regular season slate Saturday night on Coliseum ice against the Eagles at 7:30pm with the annual End-of-Season player awards presentation immediately following the game.
