
Brahmas Hold on for 4-3 Win over Allen

FORT WORTH, Texas (January 11) - The Brahmas held on late to defeat the Allen Americans by the score of 4-3 Friday night, snapping Allen's seven-game win streak.
The Brahmas jumped out to an early lead as Chad Woollard buried home a loose puck in front of the net at the 15:41 mark of the first period.
Woollard added another at 5:04 of the second period as he streaked down the left and scored with a backhanded shot to give the Brahmas a 2-0 edge. For the 14-year veteran, Friday's multi-goal performance was his second in the last three games.
Trevor Ludwig found the back of the net at 6:47 of the middle frame to cut the Fort Worth lead in half at 2-1.
The Brahmas regained their two-goal lead soon after when John Snowden picked up a loose puck and fired a wrister from slot by Allen netminder Aaron Dell at 12:16 of the second period. For Snowden, the score was his fifth in the last three games and seventh in 10 games since joining the club December 21. The goal gave Fort Worth a 3-1 advantage after 40 minutes.
The Brahmas extending their lead to 4-1 with 9:56 to play in regulation when Austin Mayer took the puck from behind the net and fed Jake Morley in front for this first goal of the season.
Jason Deitsch and Jarret Lukin found the back of the net with 7:56 and 52 seconds remaining in the third period, respectively. The Brahmas were able to hold on to the lead to snap the Americans' seven-game win streak. Fort Worth is now 2-4-1 against Allen this season.
Kristofer Westblom stopped 24 of 27 shots between the posts for the Brahmas to pick up his ninth win of the season. Dell made 24 saves on 28 shots, losing in regulation for only the fourth time in 18 games this season.
The Brahmas and Americans meet for the third straight time tomorrow, Saturday, January 12 at the NYTEX Sports Centre. The game is set for 7:30pm, and the first 800 fans ages 12 and under will receive a free Brahmas youth jersey courtesy of Ashley Furniture.
