Brahmas beat 'Bugs in swamp 4-3

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (March 14)- The Brahmas continue to be the hottest team in the league, beating the Mudbugs in a 4-3 nail biter in Bossier Friday night.

The Brahmas had the early lead with a first period goal from Scott Sheppard from Blair Manning and Kevin Korol.

Texas goaltender Brett Jaeger was tested in the second facing 22 shots. Justin Aikins and Jason Campbell each scored even strength goals for the Mudbugs to put them up 2-1. The period was full of penalties, four to Bossier and six to Texas, including a game misconduct to Brahmas forward Greg McConnell.

The final period started well for the Texas powerplay as Jordan Cameron scored his 28th goal of the season from Justin Kinnunen and Sheppard. The Mudbugs captain, Chris Brassard put Bossier back up 3-2 with a goal of his own at the 12:10 mark.

However, :37 seconds later Texas defenseman Kevin McLeod evened the score at three with a feed from Manning and Kinnunen. The Brahmas are now 8-0 when McLeod scores an even strength goal.

With only :33 seconds remaining in regulation, Texas' Tyler Skworchinski put a goal past Mudbug goaltender Ken Carroll to give the Brahmas the 4-3 win.

The Brahmas travel to Corpus Christi for a matchup against the Rayz at 7:05 PM before returning home to the NYTEX Sports Centre Sunday for their last regular season home game, "Fan Appreciation Night".
