PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - In preparation for the Central Hockey League's 2008 postseason, the Arizona Sundogs Hockey Club today announced it has signed forward Steve Rymsha.

Rymsha, 28, has spent four of the past five years playing professional hockey overseas. The St. Catharines, Ontario, native played in Denmark with Esbjerg EfB Ishockey before signing with the Sundogs for the remainder of the 2007-08 season. In 44 games this year, he has collected 18 goals, 17 assists and 75 penalty minutes (PIM).

"Steve is going to add size and strength to our offense," said Sundogs Head Coach and General Manager Marco Pietroniro. "With playoffs less than two weeks away, we're looking to add depth to our roster. With the addition of Steve, we've taken a step in that direction."

Before playing overseas, Rymsha spent time in both the East Coast (ECHL) and American Hockey Leagues (AHL). In 140 ECHL contests with the Greenville Grrrowl and Reading Royals, the 6-foot-4, 227-pound forward compiled 66 goals, 64 assists and 139 PIM.

Prior to turning pro, Rymsha appeared in 137 games while playing collegiate hockey at Western Michigan University. In four years, the left winger collected 48 goals, 50 assists and 269 PIM.

Rymsha has joined the Sundogs and will appear in his first game with Arizona tonight as they take on the Southwest Division Amarillo Gorillas at Tim's Toyota Center in Prescott Valley. Game time is set for 7:05pm. Tickets are available by phone at 1-866-4-GET-TIX (1-866-443-8849), online at www.gettix.net and in person at the Tim's Toyota Center Box Office.
