
Brady, Travs Blank Naturals in Finale

North Little Rock, AR - The Arkansas Travelers blanked the Northwest Arkansas Naturals 5-0 on Wednesday night at Dickey-Stephens Park.
RHP Michael Brady (W, 3-2) tossed six innings and allowed four hits (all singles) with no walks, and tied a career-high with eight strikeouts. Brady lowered his season ERA to 1.89 and improved to 3-0 with a 1.26 ERA in six starts. Brady has 30 strikeouts and one walk over 28.2 innings as a starter.
RHP Austin Wood worked the seventh and eighth innings and RHP Nate Hyatt closed out the game by facing three batters in the ninth.
Arkansas scored four runs in the first inning thanks to singles from 2B Sherman Johnson, CF Jared Mitchell, RF Blake Gailen and 1B Wade Hinkle.
Gailen launched his second home run of the season in the third (estimated 411 feet by TrackMan) that made it 5-0 Travs. Gailen finished 2-for-3 with the home run, two RBIs and two runs scored.
The home run by Gailen was the Travs' first at Dickey-Stephens Park since May 10 (45 days).
The run by Johnson was his league-leading 52nd of the season. He has also drawn 52 walks.
The Travelers finished 3-for-4 with runners in scoring position and went 13-for-24 over the last three games (all wins).
Major Leaguer on Rehab RHP Kris Medlen (L, 0-1) worked four innings and allowed the five runs (four earned) on six hits with two walks and two strikeouts.
With the victory, Arkansas improved to 38-33 on the season and 2-0 in the second half. The Travs have won seven of their last nine games.
The Travelers will welcome the Springfield Cardinals to town for a four-game series beginning on Thursday at Dickey-Stephens Park. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.
