Cuthbert, Mondesi Named to Represent Kansas City Royals in SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game

SPRINGDALE, AR - Former 2013-2014 Northwest Arkansas Natural Cheslor Cuthbert will join current 2015 Natural Raul Mondesi as the two representatives for the Kansas City Royals on the World Team in the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game from Great American Ballpark. Mondesi is one of eight current Texas League players chosen to participate in the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game.
Rosters for the 2015 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game, which will be played at 3:00 p.m. (ET) on Sunday, July 12th at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati, were announced by Major League Baseball earlier today on MLB Network's "MLB Central" and MLB.com.Â
Major League Baseball, in conjunction with the Major League Baseball Scouting Bureau, MLB.com, Baseball America and the 30 Major League Clubs, selected the 25 players currently on each team. Each Major League organization is represented and players from all full-season Minor Leagues were eligible to participate. Complete Futures Game rosters, prospect analysis and rankings can be found at MLB.com/pipeline.Â
The teams feature 13 former first round draft picks (all U.S.), four players picked in Compensation Round A (U.S. - 3; World - 1) and two second round picks (both U.S.). Among the 13 first round picks, six were selected in the 2014 Draft, three in the 2013 Draft, two in the 2012 Draft and two in the 2011 Draft.
The World Team features players from seven different countries and territories outside the 50 United States. The Dominican Republic is represented by 13 players, followed by Venezuela (5) and Puerto Rico (3). Curacao, Germany, Nicaragua and Taiwan are each represented by one player on the World Team.
The Naturals return home for a four-game homestand beginning at 7:05 pm tonight against the Tulsa Drillers with Buck Night on Thirsty Thursday at Arvest Ballpark, featuring a car flag giveaway by Foghorns.
