Brady extends hitting streak to 10 games in Power loss

ASHEVILLE, NC (May 19, 2005) – Josh Brady hit a pair of doubles and extended his hitting streak to 10 games, but it was not enough to take down the Tourists, who beat the Power 4-2 on Thursday night at McCormick Field in Asheville.

The Tourists drew first blood on an RBI groundout from Matt Miller to take a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. Miller struck again in the bottom of the third inning, when he reached on a fielder's choice and drove in Neil Wilson to give Asheville a 2-0 advantage. In the top of the fourth inning the Power scored twice to tie the game. Hernan Iribarren hit is second homer of the year to begin the inning, the solo shot cut the lead to 2-1. Charlie Lozada drove in Josh Brady later in the inning on an RBI double to tie the game at 2-2. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Jose Valdez hit a towering two run homer that gave the Tourists the lead for good.

Jake Postlewait (2-1) earned the victory, Darric Merrell earned the save (1) and Greg Kloosterman (2-7) obtained the loss. The Power fall to 12-28 with the loss and the Tourists are 22-18 after the win.

The Power will conclude the four game series with Asheville on Friday night at 7:00 PM in Asheville, North Carolina. Right Handed pitcher Robbie Wooley (0-2, 5.40) will throw for the Power and the tourists will counter with right-handed pitcher Ryan Mattheus (1-0, 3.86).
