
Bradley's Blast Lifts Captains to Extra Innings Win

Lake County Captains News Release
(Beloit, WI) -Nine innings just wasn't enough for the Lake County Captains on Saturday night. The Captains rallied to tie the game with two outs in the top of the ninth inning to force extra innings. In the top of the tenth inning, Bobby Bradley connected on a two run homerun to give the Captains the lead. Lake County would hold on for a 6-3 win over the Beloit Snappers at Pohlman Field.
The Captains would take the first lead of the game in the top of the fourth inning. Yu-Cheng Chang leading off the inning drove the first pitch he saw deep of the scoreboard in leftfield for a 1-0 lead.
Lake County would add another run in the top of the fifth inning. With two outs Grant Fink would draw a walk. Bobby Ison followed with a base hit to move Fink to second. Fink would then come around to score on Greg Allen's RBI single to push the Captains lead to 2-0.
After getting a single run in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Snappers would take the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning. The Snappers would take advantage of three Captains walks when Joe Bennie singled home Trent Gilbert and Yario Munoz for a 3-2 Snappers lead.
In the top of the ninth inning the Captains would get the tying run on base thanks to a Snappers error. Dorssys Paulino reached when his pop up was dropped by Beloit first basemen Sandber Pimentel. With two outs and down to the final strike of the game, Fink drew his second walk of the game to move Paulino to second. Ison followed with a base hit to leftfield. Paulino beat the throw to the plate to tie the game at 3.
Chang started the top of the tenth inning with a deep fly out to rightfield. Claudio Bautista then drew a four pitch walk to put the go ahead run on. Bradley followed and erased an earlier 0-4 night with his seventh homerun of the season to score the eventual game winning runs. Fink would deliver an insurance run as well when he singled to drive in Paulino to make it a 6-3 game.
Thomas Pannone started and went 5.0 innings. He allowed just 2 hits and 1 run that was earned. He walked 3 and struck out 5. Dominic DeMasi followed and went 1.0 inning. He allowed 2 runs, both earned, on 1 hit. He walked 3 and did not record a strike out. Justin Garcia followed with a perfect innings of relief. Garcia struck out 3. Caleb Hamrick (1-0) got the win with 3.0 innings of relief. He allowed just 1 hit. He walked 1 and struck out 4.
With the win the Captains move above .500 at 28-27. The win also keeps the Captains just 2.5 games out of the wild card with two weeks left in the first half.
The Captains and Snappers continue their series on Sunday afternoon with a 3:00pm first pitch. Jordan Milbrath (2-6) will start for the Captains. Catch all the action on 970AM WFUN.
