
Boyes, Hilbert key Bruins' win

Providence Bruins News Release
The Providence Bruins and Worcester IceCats played the eighth game of their 10-game season series on Wednesday night at the DCU Center, with the Bruins taking a crucial 5-4 decision. Providence is 3-3-1-1 in the season series against their Route 146 rivals. The win improved the Bruins' record to 35-26-3-7 on the season, as the team opened up a four-point lead over Worcester. The Bruins are in fourth place in the Atlantic Division with 80 points.
Bruin center Brad Boyes (30, 31) and left wing Andy Hilbert (34, 35) each tallied two goals in the game. Both players matched their single-season career-highs in goal scoring. Boyes notched his league-leading 18th power play goal of the season, setting a new single-season franchise record. Boyes broke the mark previously set by Lee Goren in the 2002-03 season. Hilbert scored his 16th power play goal of the season, which also proved to be his third game-winning goal this year. He also posted his third shorthanded goal of the season.
Bruin left wing and co-captain Jay Henderson also scored, on his seventh goal of the season.
Providence goaltender Hannu Toivonen stopped 33 shots to improve to 24-15-3 on the season. Toivonen has now won three straight starts.
The Bruins play the third game of their four-game road trip on Friday, April 1 at 7:35 p.m., when they take on the Manchester Monarchs. All the action will be broadcast live on WDDZ AM-550 and on the team website, www.providencebruins.com. The Bruins' next home game will be played on Sunday, April 3 at 4:05 p.m., when they host Manchester.
Sunday's game will be a "McDonald's Family 4-Pack" night, with fans being able to purchase four tickets and four McDonald's Extra Value Meals, for just $48.
