New York Boulders News Release
The Boulders defeated the Quebec Capitals 7-4 on Saturday night for their seventh win in their last nine games and their third in a row over Quebec.
Rockland pulled ahead for good in the sixth inning, scoring three runs on a John Brontsema RBI double and a two-run double by Ryne Birk to make it 5-3. James Mulry earned his second win in as many nights for the Boulders after pitching a scoreless sixth. He relieved J.D. Busfield, who scattered seven hits and allowed three runs over five innings en route to a no-decision.
Rockland added a run in the bottom half of the seventh inning when Chase Harris drove in his fourth run of the year on a double, and plated another when Brontsema was hit by a pitch.
Landon Holifield and Robbie Gordon finished the game with scoreless efforts in the 8th and 9th, respectively. Three Boulders - Brontsema, Grant Heyman and Adam Ehrlich - had multi-hit games in the victory.
With the win, Kevin Baez's team will look for a series sweep of Quebec tomorrow at 1:30 at Palisades Credit Union Park.
