New York Boulders News Release
(POMONA, NY) - The Rockland Boulders are asking you, the fan, to join them in the fight against Breast Cancer when they host their annual "Pink in the Park" Breast Cancer Awareness Game, on Saturday, July 11 at 6:30 pm at Provident Bank Park. Presented by Radiaderm System by WaterJel Technologies, Mercedes-Benz of Nanuet, Budweiser, and Kinchley's Tavern, the first-place Boulders will be taking on the Trois-Rivieres Aigles in Game Two of a three-game series.
"Cancer unfortunately touches everyone," said Ken Lehner, Rockland Boulders Team President. "As a result, we are proud to partner with GSRMC and many others in this ongoing battle. Pink represents the fight so let's all wear it that night!"
In 2014, more than $4,000 dollars was donated to The Center for Breast Health at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center through 50/50 raffles and funds raised during a special jersey auction. The Boulders will once again offer these efforts, plus some new ones, to beat that mark in 2015. Last season, a record crowd of 6,329 people joined in the cause as Rockland defeated Quebec 10-9.
This year, the Boulders will again be wearing commemorative pink jerseys that will be auctioned off to benefit The Center for Breast Health at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center. Rockland will also donate $1 for each fan who wears pink on that day with a portion of the 50/50 sales going to The Center for Breast Health. On Saturday night, pink lemonade will be available for $2 with $1 of each sale being donated. The entire weekend will also feature commemorative 20 oz pink beer cups to be sold at $8 with $1 of each sale being added to the funds raised. In addition, fans will be able to purchase Dippin' Dots ice cream, nachos, and Irish nachos in special pink helmets.
Along with fundraising efforts, plenty of entertainment will be provided at the game. The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a FREE "Pink in the Park" t-shirt. After the game, be sure to stick around for a pink Fireworks Extravaganza and a post-game performance from The Past Masters on the Sani Professional Stage in the Bud Light Bridge Bar. Saturday night's festivities also feature the 4th Annual Diamond Dig, presented by Clarkstown Coin & Jewelry. The first 200 women 18 and older will be able to sign-up to compete for a chance to win a pair of diamond earrings, valued at over $2,000!
