Schaumburg Boomers News Release
SCHAUMBURG, IL - The Schaumburg Boomers were swept for the first time this season, dropping a 5-1 contest to the Windy City ThunderBolts in the finale of a six-game homestand on Thursday night.
Windy City did not trail in the series and scored twice in the second and tacked on two more in the third to lead 4-0. A single run in the fifth made the score 5-0. The Boomers managed just four hits in the loss but scored a run in the bottom of the seventh. Quincy Nieporte doubled and scored on a sacrifice fly from Angelo Gumbs. Schaumburg placed just two runners in scoring position in the contest. Nieporte finished with two hits. Andrew Dean worked six innings and suffered the loss.
