BOISE, Idaho - Albert Almora went 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles and two RBI, helping the Boise Hawks trim their Magic Number to win the Northwest League East Division second half pennant to two with a 11-5 victory over the Vancouver Canadians, before 5,157 fans at Nat Bailey Stadium.

After spotting the Canadians a 2-0 lead in the first on a Balbino Fuenmayor two-run double, the Boise bats came alive. The Hawks tied the game in the second, getting an infield RBI single by Trey Martin, with Almora scoring later in the frame after Martin was picked off of first.

Boise would take the lead for good in the fourth on a Rock Shoulders RBI ground out, followed by a Martin RBI single up the middle. The visitors would break the game open with a five-run fifth, keyed by a two-run double by Almora into the left field corner.

Hayden Simpson picked up the win in his first start for the Hawks, allowing three runs on six hits, striking out seven. Willson Contreras went 3-for-5 with three runs scored, extending his hit streak to 15 games, while Martin went 3-for-3 with three RBI.

Game 3 of the series is tomorrow afternoon at 2:05 p.m. (MT), with Tayler Scott meeting Kyle Anderson.
