Boise Burn News Release
BOISE, Idaho ¾ The Boise Burn are set to open training camp this weekend in preparation for the arenafootball2's ninth season, and the Burn's second.
Players report on Saturday for physicals and a team orientation and will hold their first practice on Sunday at the Caven-Williams Sports Complex at Boise State University.
Under af2 rules, teams are allowed to open camp two weeks prior to the week of their first regular season game. Teams are allowed to bring 35 players to camp (not including the optional two-player International Training Squad), but must cut down to 30 on the third day of full contact camp. The final cut to 22 players (19-active; three-inactive) is the Monday prior to their first game by 3:00 pm ET.
With this week's addition of OL Brandon Leyritz to the roster and a trade of QB Matt Schabert to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton for future considerations, the Burn open camp with 32 players battling for 22 jobs. However, more player movement is expected this week.
