
Thunder Training Camp Set to Open

Mahoning Valley Thunder News Release
BOARDMAN, OH. - The Mahoning Valley Thunder is pleased to announce that training camp for the 2008 season kicks off this Saturday, March 8th. Head Coach Mike Hold will bring 35 players to camp (per league rules) before trimming the roster to 24 players on March 22nd. Players report to the team Saturday March 8th for check in and a team meeting which will be followed by a team dinner later that evening. The first official practice kicks off Monday, March 10th. Camp concludes on Sunday March 23rd.
THUNDER HEAD COACH MIKE HOLD SAYS:
"This is an exciting time of year for us. We work hard all off season to get to this point. We feel like there's a lot more talent on the roster then we had a year ago. We're going to camp with experienced guys who have played at a high level against strong competition. No body is guaranteed a spot on the roster. We expect an extremely competitive camp and look forward to some good positional battles. Expectations are high and we're ready to get things rolling."
The Mahoning Valley Thunder opens the season at home Saturday March 29th on Cortland Banks Field inside the Chevrolet Centre.
