Boise Burn News Release
(Boise, ID) -- Boise Burn receiver/kick returner/defensive back Jomo Wilson has been named the af2 JLS Ironman of the Week.
Wilson shone in Boise's playoff victory this past weekend, picking up 127 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns in Boise's 77-36 win over Arkansas.
His contribution was evenly spread over the whole game, scoring an offensive touchdown (1-yard, 4th quarter touchdown run) and a defensive touchdown (43-yard, 3rd quarter interception return). He had two receptions, a forced fumble, a recovered fumble, and returned two kickoffs for 57 yards.
The Eastern Oregon product is authoring one of the best all-around seasons in Burn history, leading the team in all-purpose yards, receptions, points, and total touchdowns. He has three kickoff returns for touchdowns and the franchise record for all-purpose yards in one game (234 vs. Spokane, 7/25). He has also intercepted five passes, three of which have been returned for scores.
Wilson, who also won the weekly Ironman award once last season in Central Valley, becomes the fourth Burn player recognized by the league this season. Levi Madarieta won the league's Defensive Player of the Week award in March and Terrance Sanders has twice been named JLS Ironman of the Week.
The Burn (13-4) will be on the road Saturday night, taking on the Spokane Shock (16-1) in the second round of the af2 National Conference Playoffs. Game time is 8 PM (Mtn) in Spokane. Fans can listen to the game on KGEM 1140 (AM) radio or watch online at www.boiseburn.com via NiFTy-TV. Scott Conklin will handle the play-by-play duties.
