Saskatoon Blades News Release
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - Saskatoon Blades defenceman Pasha Bocharov has earned a spot on Team USA's national U18 squad, and will compete for international glory at the 2021 Hlinka Gretzky Cup later this summer.
Bocharov, who dressed in 16 games as a rookie with Saskatoon last season, is one of seven defencemen and 23 players to crack the roster. The Escondido, CA product will join the rest of Team USA for the 2021 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, running August 2-7 in Breclav, Czech Republic, and Piestany, Slovakia.
"We are extremely proud of Pasha for making the United States national U-18 team," exclaimed Blades general manager Colin Priestner. "To be one of the top seven defenceman in the country for his age is a great achievement and we know he will represent us very well on the world stage this summer at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup. This experience will certainly provide him with a lot of confidence and exposure as he prepares for his draft year with us this season."
Selected by the Blades 160th overall in the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft, Bocharov made the bold decision to head north of the border and join Saskatoon for the 2021 Hub Season in Regina. In 16 games as a rookie, the 6-foot-0, 180-pound defender collected one assist, and helped Saskatoon finish third in the East Division with an impressive 16-5-2-1 record.
Season ticket renewals along with new memberships for the 2021-22 regular season are now on sale for as low as $17 per game for adults, and $5 for children. The Blades have also extended its Early Bird deadline until July 16th, giving fans the chance to save some extra money this summer as anticipation builds for our return to the ice. Fans are encouraged to contact the Saskatoon Blades front office by calling or texting (306) 975-8844, or by emailing info@saskatoonblades.com for more information. We are thrilled to bring our passionate fanbase back into SaskTel Centre in a safe, healthy environment for all.
