
Bobcats creeping up in West Division standings

The Bismarck Bobcats won two out of three games this weekend, moving themselves within seven points of a playoff spot.
It all started on Thursday night when the 'Cats held on for a 4-3 victory over Bozeman. Bismarck fell behind early, but exploded for two goals late in the 2nd period to go ahead for good. Donnie Mitchell, and Clay Rehm tallied consecutive goals in the first period for a 2-1 lead. In the 2nd, former Bobcat Filip Majecka, pictured above, scored to tie things up, but the 'Cats responded on the power play when Nick Bydal blasted home a goal on the power play and only three minutes later, Dustan Fulton scored on a wrist shot for a 4-2 lead. Majecka scored his second goal of the game in the third period, but the Ice Dogs couldn't muster the tying score late in the game.
On Friday, the 'Cats hit the road for a pair of games at Minnesota. The Blizzard won a wild one on Friday night 3-2 in a game that featured 37 penalties. There were six fighting majors, plus two game ejections. Aaron Bendickson and Tommy Dee scored the only two Bobcat goals. Sean Fish scored twice for the Blizzard, including the eventual game winner in the third period.
Saturday, Bismarck rebounded for a 4-1 win at Minnesota to move themselves within seven points of fourth place in NAHL West Division. Bismarck has won five out of their last seven and will hit the road for a pair of games at Bozeman this weekend.
