Bismarck Bobcats News Release
The Bismarck Bobcats make the long trek to Austin, Minnesota this weekend to take on the Bruins at Riverside Arena.
Season Series
The Bobcats are 2-3-1 against the Bruins this season. The last road series between these two teams ended in a split.
Who's Hot?
Bismarck Forward Charlie Kresl led all Bobcats in scoring this past weekend with 6 points on the weekend. The 2006 UMass Lowell commit now has 48 assists this season which is the 4th highest in a single season.
The Bobcat offense scored 17 goals on the weekend; that number is the most goals scored by the Bobcats in a weekend series all season.
Bruins Forward Zander Lipsett notched 2 goals on Saturday, including a shorthanded goal, to spark the offense to a 3-2 win over the Tauros.
The Bruins goaltending has been sharp all season. Both Jack Solomon and Cody Butikis have a GAA under 2.50 and a save percentage of .905 or better. They have combined for 4 shutouts on the season as well.
Last Weekend
The Bobcats swept the Minnesota Mallards at home this past Friday and Saturday by final scores of 8-4 and 9-1. Friday night the Bobcats had 8 different skaters find the back of the net.
The Bruins split last weekend's contests at Riverside Arena with the Minot Minotauros. Friday night was a 5-1 loss to the Tauros, fueled by a 4-goal 3rd period for Minot. Saturday, while the Tauros would score on Saturday in the opening 24 seconds, Austin would score twice in the opening frame and never trail again, winning 3-2 on Saturday.
