Huck named Sher-wood NAHL Offensive Player of the Week

With a big six-point game and a significant assist the next night, Wichita Falls Wildcats center Kevin Huck captured Sher-wood NAHL Offensive Player of the Week honors for Week 17 of the season. Huck tallied assists on four of the ‘Cats first six goals, including the first goal and the eventual game-winner, then added a goal and a fifth assist in a 9-3 victory over the Springfield Jr. Blues on January 28. The next night, the Eden Prairie, Minnesota native set up the ‘Cats first goal with the lone assist only 1:17 into a rematch with the Jr. Blues, a 5-2 win that, with two-empty net goals, was closer than the final score indicates. Huck now has 32 assists on the season, which is tied for the fourth best total in the NAHL. He also now leads the Wildcats in scoring.

Runners-up: Karl Sellan, Texas Tornado, had four goals and an assists on the road in Santa Fe. He had the overtime winner on January 28 and a hat trick, including the game winner the following night.. He leads the NAHL in goals with 31; Shane Wheeler, Fairbanks, had two goals including the game-winner against the Springfield Spirit on January 28, and another pair of goals, including the game winner, and an assist in the rematch the following night.
