NORFOLK, VA - Today, the Norfolk Admirals announced that right wing Michael Blunden has been signed to an amateur tryout contract (ATO). In 60 games with the Erie Otters (OHL) this season, Blunden posted 46 goals and 38 assists for 84 points with 63 PIM.
Originally selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2nd round (43rd overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, the 19-year old forward stands at 6'3" , 213 lbs.
Blunden has been playing with Erie since 2002-03. The Toronto, ON, native has totaled 100 goals, 81 assists, 181 points and 246 PIM in 236 career games with the Otters.
