Blues Recall Woywitka Under Emergency Conditions

Peoria, IL (January 29, 2007) - St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today that defenseman Jeff Woywitka has been recalled under emergency conditions from the Peoria Rivermen, the Blues' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate.

Woywitka, 23, has played in five games for the Blues this season, registering one assist along with two penalty minutes. He has played in 41 games with Peoria this season, recording 18 assists along with 20 penalty minutes.

The Vermilion, Alberta native was originally drafted by Philadelphia as their fifth-round selection, 27th in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.

On Saturday, February 3, the Rivermen travel to Grand Rapids, Mich., to face off against the Griffins. Game time is 6:00 p.m. CT at Van Andel Arena.
