LAKEWOOD, NJ - West Virginia's bullpen worked overtime on Saturday, shutting down the BlueClaws in a 6-4 Power win.

Starter Victor Black couldn't even make it through an inning for West Virginia (20-22), giving up two runs, a hit, and walking three batters before leaving with the bases loaded with two outs.

However the BlueClaws (23-20) offense couldn't capitalize, and Maurice Bankston (2-1), Marc Baca, and Duke Welker (S, 2) combined to hold the Claws to two runs and four hits in 8.1 innings.

The Power jumped out to an early lead on Lakewood spot starter Siulman Lebron (0-2), scoring two runs in the first. Nick Hernandez was originally schedule to start but was recently added to the disabled list with weakness in his left shoulder.

Trailing 2-0 Lakewood came back to tie it in the bottom half of the inning. With Jiwan James on third and Jonathan Villar on second, Black threw a wild pitch that let James score easily from third. Villar then stole home on reliever Bankston to tie the game.

It was the second time Villar stole home this season. He also managed the feat on May 14th at Greenville as part of a 12-6 Lakewood win.

Saturday's thievery was the second out of four steals for Villar in the game. The BlueClaws as a team stole eight bases.

In the second the BlueClaws took a 4-2 lead on a two-run Leandro Castro base hit, giving Castro his team-leading 31st and 32nd RBIs.

The lead wouldn't last. West Virginia came back with three runs in the third aided by an Anthony Hewitt error. The Power would tack on one more run in the fourth for a 6-4 lead they would not relinquish.

Aaron Baker went 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs to lead West Virginia.

Sunday afternoon (1:05 pm) the BlueClaws will look for the split, as Brody Colvin (2-5, 7.25) faces Nathan Baker (2-3, 3.99).
