Jersey Shore BlueClaws News Release

LAKEWOOD, NJ - Thursday's game was suspended by rain and will resume on Tuesday in Hagerstown, with the Suns leading 5-3 with two outs and Lakewood batting in the bottom of the fifth inning.

All tickets from this game can be exchanged for any remaining 2010 BlueClaws home game. All ticket exchanges must be done in person at the BlueClaws box office and seating is subject to availability.

Lakewood (26-21) starter Jarred Cosart was pulled after just 3.1 innings, giving up all five Sun runs on six hits. All of those came in the fourth inning as six Hagerstown (26-21) batters reached base in a row to build a 5-2 lead.

The BlueClaws drew first blood in the first on RBI singles by Jeremy Barnes and Torre Langley. The two runs were unearned, and were the first tallies Suns starter Dan Rosenbaum had allowed in 20 innings.

After the Suns took a 5-2 fourth inning lead the BlueClaws answered right back in the bottom half. Jonathan Singleton doubled, and Anthony Hewitt tripled him home to cut the deficit to two.

Prior to play being suspended Singleton was 2-for-2 and bumped his batting average up to .451 in his 15th game as a BlueClaw.

The game will be resumed next Tuesday from the point where it was stopped Thursday night.

Friday at 7:05 pm the BlueClaws start an eight game road trip in Delmarva. RHP Brody Colvin (2-5, 6.07) will take on Shorebirds RHP Matt Hobgood (2-4, 5.05).
