
Fans Can Vote On SAL All-Stars

Savannah, GA - The Savannah Sand Gnats and the South Atlantic League invite fans to vote for the representatives in the upcoming 2010 SAL All-Star Game on June 22 at Fluor Field in Greenville, SC, home of the Greenville Drive.
This is the fourth consecutive year that the SAL is including fans in the All-Star Balloting process that was previously limited to SAL managers, coaches and members of the media. Fans can email their All-Star selections to allstar@sandgnats.com, or post their selections on the team's Facebook page, or by replying to the team's twitter account @gnatsbaseball.
"Being selected to one of the South Atlantic League's Southern Division All-Star Team is a special honor for any young ballplayer," said Gnats team President, John Katz. "We hope our fans will take advantage of this great opportunity to reward the League's best players, and I expect to see a lot of Sand Gnats swarming Greenville next month."
Fans can vote in the following categories for both the Northern and Southern Division teams: Manager, Pitcher, Catcher, First Baseman, Second Baseman, Third Baseman, Shortstop, Utility Infielder, Right Field, Center Field, Left Field, Utility Outfielder, Designated Hitter.
For information on each player, fans can visit www.sandgnats.com and use the "stats" section of the website. All submissions must be received by Tuesday, June 2.
Savannah had four players, Jimmy Johnson, Jeff Kaplan, Josh Satin and Sean Ratliff selected to the 2009 SAL All-Star Game. Satin, Ratliff and Robert Carson, who was a late addition to the team, all participated in the festivities in Charleston, West Virginia.
