Jersey Shore BlueClaws News Release
LAKEWOOD, N.J. - The BlueClaws will welcome the Lake County Captains to FirstEnergy Park for a weekend series starting Friday night at 7:05. The Captains are the single-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians. Fans at Friday night's game will be treated to a post game fireworks show presented by Toyota/Scion World of Lakewood.
Saturday's BlueClaws game is also scheduled for a 7:05 start. The first 2,000 fans through the turnstiles will receive beach towels courtesy of the Asbury Park Press. Saturday night's theme is Wild Wild West Night. Entertainers from Cowboys East will be outside the ballpark starting at 6:00 and the show will move inside the ballpark for in between inning performances. The night will feature gun spinning, rope tricks, bull whipping, a medicine show, and prizes for the best dressed fans.
The home series ends on Sunday at 1:05. The BlueClaws invite all families to spend Father's Day with a fun day at the ballpark. There are Father's Day packages available through the BlueClaws ticket office. Each package includes two tickets to the June 18th game against Lake County, a Golf Ball Kit (2 balls and 2 tees), a post game catch on the field with an appearance by Buster and Buster's Father.
While purchasing the Father's Day package guarantees you a spot on the field, a limited number of fathers and their children will have the opportunity to participate in the DentWorld "Father-Child Catch on the Field". Fans can sign up at the NJR Information Booth after gates open at 12:00 and all fathers and children must bring their own gloves and baseballs to participate.
In 2005, the Lakewood BlueClaws were the recipients of Baseball America's Bob Freitas award for overall excellence in Minor League Baseball. The BlueClaws have led the league in attendance every year, topping out at 444,607 in 2005 and became the fastest team in South Atlantic League history to reach the 2 million fan attendance mark. For tickets or more information call 732-901-7000 or visit the BlueClaws website at blueclaws.com.
