Charleston, SC - The Greenville Drive and Charleston RiverDogs split their doubleheader Thursday night at Joseph P. Riley Park. The Drive were able to take game one 4-2, however they were not able to score in a pitchers duel in game two, losing 1-0.

In game one, the RiverDogs took an early 1-0 lead with a run in the bottom of the third off Drive starter Clay Buchholz. After Jose Tabata reached on a Tony Granadillo throwing error, Ben Jones doubled him home.

Greenville would answer back with two runs in the top of the sixth to take a 2-1 lead. With one-out Granadillo and Logan Sorensen hit back-to-back singles. Two batters later Chris Turner singled up the middle, scoring Granadillo. Christian Lara then singled to plate Sorensen.

The RiverDogs would tie the game in the bottom half of sixth of reliever Jason Blackey. Ben Jones led off the inning with his eighth home run of the season and second of the series to tie the game.

Two runs in the top of the seventh would prove to be the eventual winner for the Drive. Bubba Bell led off the inning with a single and was able to advance to third on a steal and a throwing error. Two batters later Bell would score on Granadillo's groundout. With Mark Wagner aboard, Sorensen tripled him home, sealing the victory for the Drive.

In game two the Greenville Drive offense was non-existent as they managed no runs on six hits. Despite being out hit, the RiverDogs collected one run off Tim Cox, who was making his first start of the season.

The RiverDogs scored their lone run in the bottom of the third on two hits, but it was enough to hold on for the win. With two outs, Reegie Corona and Austin Jackson hit back-to-back doubles, with Corona scoring on Jackson's hit.

David Seccombe picked up the victory for Charleston, tossing 3.0 scoreless innings in relief of starter Abel Gomez. Gomez pitched 4.0 shutout innings, striking out five.

Cox looked sharp in his first start, allowing the one run on five hits and striking out five. Blake Maxwell tossed a perfect sixth inning, punching out one Charleston batter.
