WILMINGTON, DE - Despite strong offensive performances by Blake Tiberi, Ronny Mauricio, and Francisco Alvarez, the Brooklyn Cyclones, the High-A affiliate of the New York Mets, lost 8-4 to the Wilmington Blue Rocks Thursday night at Frawley Stadium.

BIG MOMENTS

Wilmington crossed three runs in the third and fourth innings to take a 6-0 lead against Alec Kisena and the Brooklyn Cyclones.

Blake Tiberi smashed a home run off the foul poul down the right field line in the top of the sixth to cut the Cyclones deficit to 6-4. Tiberi had doubled earlier and scored on Cody Bohanek's two-run single in the fifth*. *

Francisco Alvarez doubled in the sixth and again in the eighth, but was thrown out at third base trying to extend it to a triple to lead off the inning.

Wilmington starter Joan Adon fanned 11 Cyclones over 5 â..." innings to earn the victory. The righty scattered six hits and three runs.

NEWS AND NOTES

Ronny Mauricio collected his third three-hit game of the season and first since May 16 at Greenville. Mauricio is hitting 6-12 in the series with a triple and a home run.

Blake Tiberi cracked his first home run of the season and his 11th as a professional.

LT Struble tallied his first extra-base hit, doubling in the sixth.
