Blue Jackets Recall Defenseman Cody Goloubef from AHL's Springfield Falcons

COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Columbus Blue Jackets have added defenseman Cody Goloubef to the roster on emergency recall from the Springfield Falcons, the club's American Hockey League affiliate, club Executive Vice President and General Manager Scott Howson announced today.

Goloubef, 22, (pronounced GO-luh-behf) is in his second professional season and has registered 11 assists and 39 penalty minutes in 45 games with Springfield this season. During his first professional season in 2010-11, he tallied 5-12-17 and 42 penalty minutes in 50 games with the Falcons and finished tied for third among club defensemen in goals.

A native of Mississauga, Ontario, Goloubef was the Blue Jackets' second pick, 37th overall, in the 2008 Entry Draft. Prior to his professional career, he collected 12-25-37, 180 penalty minutes and a cumulative plus/minus rating of +18 in 118 career games at the University of Wisconsin from 2007-10. He notched 0-1-1, eight penalty minutes and was +10 in six games at the 2009 World Junior Championships, helping Canada win the gold medal.
