
Crunch Best B-Sens in Overtime, 2-1

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators fell to the visiting Syracuse Crunch in overtime, 2-1 in Saturday night hockey action at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.
Defenseman Kyle Cumiskey scored the game winning goal overtime for the rival Crunch, who now have earned points 10 straight games.
The Crunch struck first in the game as Dan Sexton buried John Mitchell's rebound with just 35.8 seconds remaining in the opening period to give his team a 1-0 edge heading into the first intermission.
The B-Sens would answer with a power play goal late in the second period. Patrick Wiercioch blasted a shot in from the point that made its way through traffic past Crunch netminder Iiro Tarkki, tying the game at one. Stephane Da Costa and captain Mark Parrish drew the assists on the play.
Cumiskey ended the game at 2:41 of the overtime time period.
Robin Lehner started in goal for the B-Sens making 39 saves on 41 shots as he fell to 11-20-1 on the season. Tarkki stopped 28 of 29 shots to improve to 21-16-4.
Binghamton ended the night 1-for-3 on the power play and 1-for-1 on the penalty kill.
The B-Sens are next in action tomorrow as they travel to Hershey to close out their season series against the Bears. Game time is 5 p.m. Fans can listen live on "Binghamton's Classic Hits" BIG 107.5 (WBBI-FM). Voice of the B-Sens Grady Whittenburg will have the call beginning 30 minutes before game time as he hosts Countdown to Faceoff.
