
Blue Jackets Assign Goaltender Jean-Francois Berube, Forward Zac Dalpe to Cleveland Monsters

CLEVELAND - The Cleveland Monsters, American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets, announced Friday that the Blue Jackets assigned goaltender Jean-Francois Berube and forward Zac Dalpe to the Monsters and additionally recalled defenseman Gabriel Carlsson from Cleveland.
A 6'1", 176 lb., left-catching native of Repentigny, QC, Berube, 27, was selected by the Los Angeles Kings in the fourth round (95th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. In ten appearances for the Monsters this season, Berube posted a record of 4-5-1 with a 3.41 goals-against average (GAA) and a .893 save percentage (S%).
In 34 career NHL appearances spanning parts of three seasons from 2015-18 for the New York Islanders and Chicago Blackhawks, Berube supplied a record of 9-10-4 with a 3.39 GAA and a .898 S%. In 135 career AHL appearances spanning parts of seven seasons from 2010-18 for the Manchester Monarchs, Bridgeport Sound Tigers, Rockford IceHogs and the Monsters, Berube contributed a record of 82-43-5 with eight shutouts, a 2.39 GAA and a .912 S%. Berube helped Manchester claim the 2015 Calder Cup as AHL Playoff Champions and participated in the 2014-15 AHL All-Star Game.
In 61 ECHL appearances for the Ontario Reign spanning two seasons from 2011-13, Berube logged a 32-19-6 record with one shutout, a 2.62 GAA and a .908 S%. Prior to his professional career, Berube supplied a record of 55-47-10 in 115 appearances for the QMJHL's Montreal Juniors spanning three seasons from 2008-11, along with five shutouts, a 2.81 GAA and a .900 S%.
A 6'2", 194 lb. right-handed native of Paris, ON, Dalpe, 29, was selected by the Carolina Hurricanes in the second round (45th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. In 14 appearances for the Monsters this season, Dalpe supplied 12-7-19 with 15 penalty minutes and a +2 rating and added 0-1-1 with a +1 rating in one appearance for the Blue Jackets in 2018-19. In 141 career NHL appearances spanning parts of nine seasons from 2010-18 for Carolina, the Vancouver Canucks, Buffalo Sabres, Minnesota Wild and Columbus, Dalpe registered 12-13-25 with 36 penalty minutes and a -30 rating.
In 319 career AHL appearances spanning parts of ten seasons from 2010-18 for the Albany River Rats, Charlotte Checkers, Utica Comets, Rochester Americans, Iowa Wild and Cleveland, Dalpe registered 120-114-234 with 148 penalty minutes and a +3 rating. Prior to his professional career, Dalpe logged 34-36-70 with 44 penalty minutes and a +19 rating in 76 NCAA appearances for Ohio State University spanning two seasons from 2008-10.
A 6'5", 192 lb., left-handed native of Orebro, Sweden, Carlsson, 21, posted two penalty minutes and a -1 rating in one appearance for Columbus this season and added 1-6-7 with two penalty minutes and a -1 rating in 12 appearances for the Monsters this year. Originally selected by Columbus in the first round (29th overall) of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, Carlsson posted 0-3-3 with six penalty minutes and a -3 rating in 17 career NHL appearances for the Blue Jackets spanning the past three seasons and notched a +1 rating in five postseason appearances for Columbus in 2017.
In 36 career AHL appearances for the Monsters spanning the past three seasons, Carlsson supplied 2-4-6 with 16 penalty minutes and a -1 rating and logged 3-12-15 with eight penalty minutes and a +15 rating in 92 career SHL appearances for Linkoping HC spanning parts of three seasons from 2014-17. Additionally, Carlsson represented Sweden in the 2016 and 2017 IIHF U20 World Junior Championships.
