Syracuse Crunch News Release
UTICA, N.Y. - Connor Ingram and the Syracuse Crunch blanked the Utica Comets, 4-0 tonight at the Adirondack Bank Center.
Ingram stopped all 34 shots he faced to help put the Crunch on a six-game points streak and three-game winning streak. The team now sits at 7-5-1-0 on the season and evens the 12-game season series against the Comets, 1-1.
Ingram earned his second shutout of the season in just six starts. Ivan Kulbakov allowed three goals on 13 shots for the Comets before being relieved by Connor LaCouvee in the second period. LaCouvee stopped all eight shots he faced. Syracuse made it three consecutive games with a power-play goal going 1-for-3 on the man-advantage and a perfect 1-for-1 on the penalty kill.
The Crunch opened scoring at the 14:55 mark when Brady Brassart won the faceoff in the left circle and Cory Conacher immediately wristed home his seventh of the season. Syracuse doubled their lead on the power play with 1:51 remaining in the opening frame. After Conacher broke his stick on a one-timer attempt from the right point, Andy Andreoff grabbed the loose puck and set up Alex Barré-Boulet in the right circle. He spun around and released a quick shot that beat Kulbakov and chased him from the game.
Syracuse went up by three 4:15 into the middle stanza. Taylor Raddysh tipped the puck into the zone where Brassart picked it up and potted his first with the Crunch from the left circle. Dominik Masin tallied the secondary helper.
With two minutes left in the game, Alex Volkov hit the empty net with the help of Conacher to secure the 4-0 win.
The Crunch return to the War Memorial Arena to host the Laval Rocket tomorrow at 7 p.m.
