
Barracuda Forward Filip Sandberg to Return to Sweden

SAN JOSE - The San Jose Barracuda (@SJBarracuda), proud American Hockey League (@TheAHL) affiliate of the NHL's San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks), and General Manager Joe Will have announced that forward Filip Sandberg will return to his native Sweden to pursue playing opportunities in the Swedish Elite League.
Sandberg signed a two-year contract with the Sharks on May 23, 2017 after winning a SHL Championship with HV71. During that playoff run, Sandberg finished T-third in the league in points (14), T-fifth in goals (six) and T-sixth in assists (eight) and led his team in postseason points and assists.
In 53 career AHL games with the Barracuda, Sandberg collected 19 points (eight goals, 11 assists), and 18 penalty minutes. In addition, Sandberg skated in a pair of Calder Cup playoff games last postseason.
