Blue Fights Back to Defeat Bighorns

OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City Blue fought back to defeat the Reno Bighorns, 130-123, at the Cox Convention Center on Saturday. The Blue trailed by as many as 19 in the first quarter before outscoring the Bighorns 69-52 in the second half.

Oklahoma City Thunder forward Mitch McGary scored eight points while adding seven rebounds, three blocks and a pair of assists. Dwight Buycks led all scorers with 29 points, 20 of which came in the second half. The guard added seven rebounds, five assists and three steals.

Marquis Teague scored 22 points with six assists and four boards. Talib Zanna recorded 17 points and 15 rebounds - marking his seventh career double-double against the Bighorns. JP Tokoto scored 15 points and Boubacar Moungoro and Kameron Woods each added 11.

The Bighorns built an early 35-16 lead and outscored the Blue 40-28 in the first quarter before the Blue began chipping away in the second quarter, heading into halftime down 71-61. The Blue used a 12-3 run late in the third to narrow the difference to four with 12 minutes remaining.

The Blue broke a 110-110 tie midway through the fourth with a 16-6 burst to put the Blue ahead by double digits. Oklahoma City led by at least two possessions for the final three minutes to complete the comeback win. Reno shot 37.3 percent in the final quarter as the Blue forced eight Bighorn turnovers.

"I thought our team did a great job of showing resiliency throughout the game," said Blue Head Coach Jarell Christian. "We came into halftime and made a few adjustments, which resulted in Reno having their lowest scoring quarter in the fourth. I think it speaks volumes about our guys sticking together through adversity."

Oklahoma City (15-24) pulled down 56 rebounds - including 18 on the offensive end.

Reno (25-15) was led by Erick Green and Ricky Ledo with 29 points apiece.
