Blue Crabs to Host "Meet the Candidates Night" August 26

(Waldorf, MD): The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs Professional Baseball Club has announced they are hosting "Meet The Candidates Night" at Regency Furniture Stadium, in conjunction with their Thursday, August 26 game against the Lancaster Barnstormers. This opportunity will prove to be essential for any candidate seeking state or local office in the upcoming election. August 26 is less than three weeks before the primary.

All candidates who participate will be introduced to the public on the field prior to the game, which is scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m. This season, the Blue Crabs are playing in front of an average crowd of 3,574 fans per game, with many standing room crowds exceeding the 4,200 fixed seats at Regency Furniture Stadium. It will be difficult to find a better way to reach more potential voters in a short period of time!

It is FREE for candidates to register for this event, and each person running for office will be given four complimentary tickets to that night's game. There are also additional campaign opportunities available beyond being introduced to the crowd during the pre-game. For only $500.00, candidates can set up their own table on the concourse complete with campaign materials to hand out, and that price includes 25 tickets to the game. For $1,000.00, candidates may rent a skybox suite at Regency Furniture Stadium to entertain their guests, which includes 25 tickets and catering.

"Here with the ballpark, we are fortunate enough to have the largest place of public assembly in Charles County at our disposal," said Gick. "While the team cannot endorse one specific candidate, we care deeply about Southern Maryland, and want to give each candidate this great platform to reach voters, so everyone can make informed decisions that are best for our community," Gick continued.

The event is bi-partisan, and the gates for the game on Thursday, August 26 will open at 6 p.m. All interested are also asked to save the date of Thursday, September 16 when the Blue Crabs take on the York Revolution at 7:05 p.m. On that night, the team will recognize the primary election winners and welcome them back to Regency Furniture Stadium.

Regency Furniture Stadium is located at 11765 St. Linus Drive in Waldorf, MD.

The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs are a member of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, and play at Regency Furniture Stadium in Waldorf, Maryland.
