Green Bay Blizzard News Release

The Green Bay Blizzard and Piggly Wiggly have teamed up to fight hunger with the "Stomp Out Hunger" Food Drive, which will be held at this Friday night's Blizzard game against the Quad City Steamwheelers.

Fans are encouraged to bring along non-perishable food items that they can donate as they enter the Resch Center. There will be collection bins set up at the main entrance, and they will be staffed by members of The Salvation Army. All the food collected will benefit both The Salvation Army and the DePere Christian Outreach Center.

The Blizzard is hosting the 1st Annual J.J. Keller & Associates "High School Tug-of-War Challenge," which pits area high school football teams in a contest to see who is the strongest. They are also in competition to see which team donates the most food to the Food Drive - whoever donates the most food wins the opportunity to watch the game from a Luxury Suite with Green Bay Packers FB Vonta Leach!

Piggly Wiggly is also proud to present the University of Wisconsin Marching Band, who will be making their first-ever appearance at a Blizzard game. They will be performing the National Anthem, then taking the field for a set at halftime, and of course they will also put on their famed "5th Quarter" performance.
