The Americans built a 4-0 lead 13 minutes in and held off the Blazers for a 6-3 win on Friday at Interior Savings Centre. Jake Trask and Shayne Wiebe brought the Blazers to 4-2 after one with Tyler Shattock making it a 4-3 game midway through the second period before the Ams restored a 2-goal lead then put it away with a final tally midway through the third period. Final shots were 30-21 Americans with Chet Pickard picking up the win while Jon Groenheyde suffered the loss in just 13 minutes of work. The Blazers were 1-for-7 on the powerplay while the Americans were 3-for-5.
