Giants Win Fourth Straight, Shutout Kings

EDMONTON - AB: The Vancouver Giants ran their record to four straight wins on their Alberta Road Swing with a 2-0 shutout victory over the Edmonton Oil Kings on Thursday night at Rexall Place.

The Giants picked up goals on defence again tonight, with Brent Regner and Mike Berube supplying the offence as well as helping the G-Men hold the Oil Kings to just 12 shots on goal.

Tyson Sexsmith picks up his 24th win of the season as well as his third shutout of the campaign. Sexsmith now has 23 career shutouts, extending his CHL record.

The Giants will bus south tomorrow to take on the CHL's #1 ranked team, the Calgary Hitmen, at the Pengrowth Saddledome. You can catch all the action from Cowtown, on WHITE SPOT GIANTS HOCKEY, which can be heard on AM 650. Dave Sheldon will have the call of all the action, beginning with the SAVE ON FOODS PRE GAME SHOW at 5:30 pm, and the puck drop between these two great teams at 6 pm.
