Blazers Sign Defenseman Harrison Brunicke

Kamloops, BC - The Kamloops Blazers have announced that the hockey club has signed 2006-born defenseman Harrison Brunicke to a standard WHL player agreement. Brunicke was selected by the Blazers in the third round of the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft in December.

The Calgary, AB native played this season for the Calgary Royals of the Alberta Elite Hockey League U-18 program. He had six goals, 11 assists and 17 points in 29 games this season.

Brunicke also played on Team Alberta at the WHL Cup in October 2021 in Red Deer. The 6'2" and 170lb defender had two assists in five games.

"We are excited to welcome Harrison and his family to the Blazers organization," said General Manager / Head Coach, Shaun Clouston. "We look forward to watching Harrison grow and develop over the coming years in Kamloops."

Brunicke was the first defenseman taken by the Blazers in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft. He joins forward Ashton Tait and goaltender Jesse Sanche as the third player signed from the draft class.
