Baltimore, MD - In their fourth match up of the season, the Baltimore Blast snapped their three game losing streak with a win versus rival Harrisburg 9-3.

The first quarter saw both teams making great defensive plays with plenty of blocked shots. William Vanzela and Heat goalkeeper Matt Perrella each made great saves to keep the game scoreless through the first quarter. A save off the line by midfielder Jonatas Melo highlighted the persistent and tenacious defense by both sides. The first quarter ended scoreless between the two teams with the Blast out shooting the Heat by a slim margin of 6-4.

Midway through the second quarter, the Blast finally found their breakthrough. Vini Dantas capitalized off a fortunate deflection from a Heat defender that found its way into the back of the net. The Blast continued their strong second quarter with Marco Nascimento's second goal of the season for the 2-0 lead. N'diaye created something out of nothing, stealing the ball from the Harrisburg defender and finding Jamie Thomas for the 3-0 Blast lead. Vini Dantas almost capped off a strong first half with a lobbed shot from midfield that was ultimately saved by Matt Perrella. The Blast entered the halftime break leading 3-0, outshooting the Heat 20-3 in the second quarter.

The Blast wasted no time in continuing right where they left off. Adriano Dos Santos put the Blast up 4-0 thirty-one seconds into the second quarter. This was Dos Santos' fifth goal of the season, which was assisted by Vini Dantas. Three minutes later, Tony Donatelli would get on the scoresheet with his sixth goal of the season. Donatelli's goal was assisted by Mohamed N'diaye's second assist of the game. The Heat were able to keep the Blast off the scoreboard for most of the third quarter, thanks to some great saves from Harrisburg goalkeeper Matt Perrella. Jonatas Melo collected the ball from William Vanzela and fired a shot over the goalkeeper to extend the Blast's lead 6-0 to close the quarter.

For the second straight quarter, the Blast scored within the first minute of the quarter. Adriano Dos Santos collected a misplaced Heat pass in his own defensive area and ran the length of the field to grab his second goal of the game. Vini Dantas recorded his second goal of the game two minutes later to extend the Blast lead 8-0. The Heat finally broke the scoring drought as Dylan Hundelt beat two Blast defenders and placed his shot in the upper far corner to make the score 8-1. Tom Mellor would grab the Heat's second goal with three minutes remaining in the game. The Blast would instantly reply as Vini Dantas square a pass across goal to find Mohamed N'diaye for the Blast goal. Nelson Santana would pull a goal back for the Heat late in the game, with the assist coming from Patrick Thompson. The Blast would hold onto the score line for the remainder of the game and record a dominant 9-3 victory.

The Blast were led by Vini Dantas, who recorded four points in the victory. Nelson Santana led the Heat in points with two coming from a goal and Matt Perrella compiled a staggering twenty-three saves. The Blast outshot the Heat 49-20 on the game. Harrisburg falls to 3-8 on the season and will travel to Canada to play the Mississauga Metrostars on Sunday February 17th.
