Saskatoon Blades News Release
MONEYS WORTH: Tonight's game was every hockey fan's dream and every coach's worst nightmare.
The Saskatoon Blades and Moose Jaw Warriors traded goals all night long Tuesday at the Moose Jaw Events Centre going in favour of the hosts 9-6.
Blades forward Egor Sidorov erupted with his second hat-trick of the season for goals 16,17, and 18 on the year. It's the 6-foot sniper's second three-goal performance in the last four games, giving him goals and points (10G, 3A) in six straight games. Sidorov is up to 27 points (18G, 9A) in 17 games this season.
Forward Lukas Hansen had two assists in the losing effort, while captain Trevor Wong and alternate captain Charlie Wright earned three-point nights. It's Wong's second straight game with three assists, extending his WHL-leading total to 28. In 19 games this year, the man known as "Wonger" leads the team with 33 points (5G, 28A), good for third in the WHL. Wright scored his second goal of the year and added two apples to his stat-line, giving him 13 points (2G, 11A) in 19 games.
The loss halts the Blades win streak at five games but remain a point ahead of the Warriors in the standings with 24 for top spot in the East Division. Saskatoon still has two games in-hand over Moose Jaw.
NEXT GAME: The Blades get set for back-to-back home games this weekend before embarking on their United States road trip.
First is Heritage Night at SaskTel Centre on Friday, Nov. 17th for a rematch against the Warriors, followed by Girls Rock Night on Saturday, Nov. 18th vs the Swift Current Broncos.
Puck drop is 7:00pm for both games.
