Blades Trim Roster by Two

The Saskatoon Blades reassigned two players on Wednesday, bringing the number of players on the roster to 25.

Goaltender Matthew Krahn (Winnipeg, MB) was reassigned to the Portage Terriers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League, a team he spent last season with. The 18-year-old was 0-2 in preseason action, making 50 saves on 61 shots in 127 minutes of action over 4 games.

Defenseman Zane Morin (Meadow Lake, SK) was reassigned to an undetermined location. The 17-year-old played in 5 preseason games, collecting 1 assist and racking up 2 penalty minutes.

The Blades currently have 25 players on the roster, including 15 forwards, 8 defensemen, and 2 goaltenders. The roster does not include eligible returnees forward Milan Kytnar, defenseman Sam Klassen, and goaltender Braden Holtby.

The Blades open the 2009-10 Regular Season Friday, September 18th against the Regina Pats at Credit Union Centre in the 92.9 The Bull Home Opener. Doors open at 5:30 pm. The Blades will debut the Reebok EDGE Uniform System and prior to puck drop will raise the 2008-09 East Division Banner.
