Tonight... The Blades visit the Kootenay ICE for the first time this season looking to put together consecutive wins for the first time in over a month. The Blades are coming off a 3-1 win last night in Medicine Hat while the ICE are looking to snap a 3-game losing skid including last night's 5-2 final at home to Edmonton.
The last game... Max Gerlach (13th),Gary Haden (5th), and Riley McKay (4th) scored for Saskatoon in a 3-1 win over Medicine Hat last night... Nolan Maier was the 1st star of the game thanks to a 35 save winning performance. Tristen Robins had 2 assists.
Head to head... The ICE took the first meeting of the season 4-2 in Saskatoon back on Nov. 1st, a loss the Blades should still be a little sour about since they held a lead going into the 3rd period. Peyton Krebs had 3 points in the game while Gary Haden and Kristian Roykas-Marthinsen scored for Saskatoon. Duncan McGovern earned the win for Kootenay... Nolan Maier was in goal for the Blades in the loss. Kirby Dach's 33 points lead the Blades offense while fellow 2001-born centre Peyton Krebs' 25 points lead Kootenay. Saskatoon brings a +6 goal differential compared to Kootenay's -24... the Blades also hold the advantage in special teams with a combined success percentage of 101.5% while Kootenay's is 100.4%.
