
'Blades see change to goaltending corps

Estero, FL - Florida Everblades head coach Gerry Fleming announced today that goaltender Rob Zepp has been re-called by the Lowell Lock Monsters of the American Hockey League and goalie Craig Kowalski has been activated from the injured reserve list.
Zepp, who has appeared in 26 games with the Everblades will make his return to Lowell where he has spent parts of the last two seasons. The 23-year-old net-minder is 11-10-2, with a goals against average of 2.67 and a save percentage of .910 with Florida this year. The former 4th round draft pick by the Carolina Hurricanes in 2001 has spent parts of the last three years with the Everblades compiling a record of 51-41-18 in 115 career games. Overall, Zepp holds a mark of 52-45-20 in 122 professional games.
Kowalski, returns to the Everblades lineup after missing the previous nine weeks on the 30-day IR. The 24-year-old originally suffered a groin injury on January 29 in a winning effort against Louisiana. In his first professional season, Kowalski holds a record of 13-6-5, with a 2.84 GAA, and a .908 save percentage in the 26 games he's played in. The former 8th round draft pick by the Carolina Hurricanes in 2000 joined the Everblades after spending the previous four years at Northern Michigan University, where he compiled a record of 68-49-12 in 132 games.
The Florida Everblades close out their regular season schedule with a pair of games vs. Columbia this Friday and Saturday at Germain Arena. Both games begin at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday night's game can also be seen on UPN-8.
