Florida Everblades News Release

Estero, FL - The Florida Everblades announced today that goaltender Chris Madden, whom the Everblades acquired the rights to earlier this season, has been named to the 2005 All-ECHL Team.

Madden, 26, was acquired by the Everblades in a trade with the Las Vegas Wranglers at the trading deadline in March. Madden becomes the second goaltender in Everblades history to be named to the All-ECHL Team, joining Marc Magliarditi, who was named Second Team All-ECHL in 1998-99.

Madden began the season with the Long Beach Ice Dogs and was 19-5-2 with a goals-against average of 2.14 and a save percentage of .941, both career bests. After being dealt to Las Vegas, Madden signed with the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League on February 19. Madden, who is currently still with Providence, is 5-3-0 with a 1.76 goals-against average and a .938 save percentage in the AHL.

In January, Madden was the starting goaltender for the National Conference at the 2005 ECHL All-Star Game in Reading, PA, stopping 12 of 13 shots in the first period.
